Our Charitable Purpose and work

At the Renewal Foundation, our aim is to make a small yet significant contribution to the evolution of human consciousness, so that peoples' attitudes, behaviours and actions cocreate conditions for a regenerative, peaceful and healthy planet for this and future generations.

We live in an increasingly conflictual and divided world and the challenges that we face in building a peaceful and sustainable planet are complex and interconnected. To make a difference we need to engender and encourage collaborative approaches that will transform action at the level of individual and collective leadership, within and across teams, organisations and geographies.

Through our work, we seek to contribute to a change in the way human beings care for the planet, catalysing a shift in leadership decision making, public awareness and behaviour to create a world that serves future generations — one that is healthy, peaceful, and vital; a world in which humanity actively and positively participates in the evolution of our shared planet. We envision enabling a paradigm shift in the way humans are in ‘right relationship’ with one another, the interconnected systems within which we are nested, and the wider web of life, of which we are a part. We aim to cultivate practices and awareness that recognize humans as participants in a shared planet that is regenerative by design. Humanity has a responsibility and an active role to play in expressing its full potential in ways that reflect humility, respect, and integrity.

About us

All of the Foundation’s work is ultimately aimed at benefiting society. The Trustees believe that many of the challenges facing the world today are closely linked to how leadership and organisations currently operate. The Foundation’s research and educational activities directly address this, helping organizations and leadership discover how they can be the best in relation to the wider challenges.

Ethics and Values

The charitable purpose of Renewal Foundation is to advance the awareness and practice of systemic collaboration for a thriving and just future for all.

We do that, through:

-Nurturing the field of knowledge and practice by collaborating systemically through convening and co-creating with thought leaders, communities, practitioners, organizations, and partnerships committed to systemic thinking and action.

-Influencing the education of future leaders and generations through partnering with academic institutions and other relevant ecosystem partners.

- Supporting the impact of existing initiatives through coaching, mentoring, and the generation of a "multiplier effect" by connecting seed funding, knowledge, and networking capabilities to create value that is greater than the sum of its parts.

The Foundation pursues this purpose through learning, research, and the dissemination of key insights and learning practices that support more conscious, self and systemically aware, and sustainable ways of being, working and leading.

Accountability

The Foundation recognises that its credibility and effectiveness depend on embodying the values it seeks to promote. To cultivate learning and the ongoing evolution of human consciousness within the Foundation itself, the Trustees act as stewards and commit to:

• Creating regular space for reflection, learning, and sense-making as part of Board of Trustees meetings and governance processes.

• Acting with courage and encouraging openness, curiosity, and constructive challenge within and across the Board of Trustees and the wider ecosystem partners.

• Reviewing not only what decisions are made, but how they are made, including patterns of behaviour, power, and relationship.

• Learning from the outcomes and impact of the Foundation’s work, including feedback from partners and participants.

• Periodically reviewing governance practices to ensure they remain fit and aligned with the Foundation’s purpose and values.

This commitment supports a Board of Trustees culture that is reflective, adaptive, and conscious, enabling the Foundation to evolve alongside the work it supports.
